US Israel Consider Historic Special Forces Mission Inside Iran To Seize Enriched Uranium Stockpile

Bold plan aims to prevent nuclear weapons threat and permanently dismantle Iran’s dangerous atomic ambitions.

Senior officials from the United States and Israel have recently discussed an extraordinary military scenario involving the possible deployment of special forces deep inside Iran to secure the regime’s stockpile of enriched uranium. The plan, reported by Axios citing US administration officials and sources familiar with the discussions, reflects growing determination to eliminate Iran’s remaining nuclear threat.

At the center of the potential operation is approximately 450 kilograms of uranium enriched to sixty percent purity. Intelligence assessments indicate that this quantity could quickly be further enriched to ninety percent, the level required for nuclear weapons. Experts estimate that such a stockpile could theoretically produce enough material for at least eleven nuclear bombs.

According to the report, Israeli and American strikes carried out last June heavily damaged Iran’s nuclear infrastructure. Many of the centrifuges used to enrich uranium were destroyed and structural collapses sealed the entrances to underground facilities. As a result, the uranium stockpile is believed to be trapped beneath rubble at several nuclear sites including the Fordow enrichment facility, the Natanz complex and particularly the nuclear infrastructure in Isfahan.

Officials stated that during the early stages of the current campaign, additional targeted strikes were conducted to permanently seal these facilities and prevent Iranian operatives from retrieving the dangerous material or smuggling it out of the country.

Now military planners are reportedly examining the possibility of sending elite ground forces to physically seize the enriched uranium and ensure that it cannot be used to rebuild Iran’s nuclear program in the future.

Such an operation would rank among the most complex and dangerous missions ever considered, as it would require deploying special forces deep inside Iranian territory and operating near heavily fortified nuclear facilities.

According to the assessment discussed by officials, such a mission would only be attempted if Israeli and American commanders determine that Iran’s military capabilities have been degraded to a level where they no longer pose a serious threat to the commando units involved.

US President Donald Trump has repeatedly stated that preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons is a central objective of the war. Securing the enriched uranium stockpile is viewed by some officials as the decisive final step to permanently block the regime’s nuclear ambitions.
