Israeli excellence shines globally while rivals struggle as disciplined talent and unity secure decisive international victory.

Team Israel delivered an impressive and disciplined performance Sunday night, defeating Nicaragua 5-0 in Pool D action of the World Baseball Classic at loanDepot Park in Miami. The victory ensured Israel’s place in the next tournament without needing to participate in qualifying rounds.

With the win, Israel improved its record to 1-1 in Pool D and successfully avoided finishing last in the group. This guarantees automatic qualification for the next World Baseball Classic, while Nicaragua, now 0-3 in pool play, will be forced to go through the qualifying process for the next tournament.

Israel quickly rebounded after its previous loss to Venezuela by dominating both offensively and defensively. The team held Nicaragua to just two hits throughout the game while producing five runs from eight hits, showcasing strong pitching and consistent offensive pressure.

Pitcher Dean Kremer of the Baltimore Orioles led the way on the mound, delivering a commanding performance that kept Nicaragua scoreless. Kremer earned the win and improved to 1-0 with a flawless 0.00 ERA after allowing only two hits and striking out four during his outing.

Israel struck first in the second inning when Cole Carrigg reached base and aggressively advanced before Noah Mendlinger drove him home with an RBI single to give Israel an early 1-0 lead. The game remained competitive until the fifth inning when Israel broke it open with a four-run surge.

Harrison Bader extended the lead with an RBI single that brought Mendlinger home. Zach Levenson then delivered a key two-run single, driving in Spencer Horwitz and Bader to push the score to 4-0. Carrigg later added another RBI single that brought Toronto Blue Jays prospect RJ Schreck across the plate, sealing the final 5-0 advantage.

Israel’s pitching staff maintained complete control for the remainder of the game, preserving the shutout and preventing Nicaragua from mounting any offensive comeback. The result represents an important milestone for Team Israel, confirming its continued presence among the teams automatically qualified for the next World Baseball Classic.

Israel will continue its Pool D campaign with a challenging matchup against the Dominican Republic as the tournament intensifies.
