Security forces foil brutal abduction plan, uncover terror tunnel and prevent major attacks in Samaria region.
Israeli security forces successfully dismantled a dangerous 10-member terror cell operating in the Samaria village of Beita, preventing planned kidnappings and further deadly attacks against civilians. The operation was carried out jointly by the Judea and Samaria District Police Central Unit, the Shin Bet, and the Israel Defense Forces.
Investigations revealed that the Hamas-affiliated cell had already executed multiple serious terror attacks and was actively preparing to abduct an Israeli citizen. In a chilling development, one of the terrorists had constructed a roughly six-meter-deep tunnel behind his home, intended to serve as a hidden detention site for hostages.
The cell had gone as far as conducting surveillance on a civilian target, carefully planning the abduction. However, the plot was ultimately abandoned when the terrorists assessed operational difficulties. Despite this, the group remained highly active over the past two years, carrying out a series of shooting and explosive attacks, including incidents in March and April 2025 that left three Israeli soldiers wounded, two of them severely.
During the coordinated arrests, Israeli forces seized a significant cache of weapons, including M-16 assault rifles, ammunition, explosive materials, and ready-to-deploy remote explosive devices, highlighting the scale and intent of the terror network.
Following a comprehensive investigation, severe indictments have been filed against all ten members in the Samaria Military Court. Charges include attempted murder, armed attacks, and attempted kidnapping, reflecting the gravity of the threats that were successfully neutralized before further harm could be inflicted.
