“Netanyahu Visits Sheba Hospital: ‘Our Soldiers Are Heroes, Our Hostages Are Coming Home’”

PM Netanyahu inspects medical readiness at Sheba Hospital ahead of hostage return, praising IDF heroes and Israel’s unity of spirit.

Moments before the onset of Shabbat, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at Sheba Medical Center to oversee final preparations for the arrival and care of the freed hostages under Operation Returning Home — a mission symbolizing both national triumph and human redemption.

Netanyahu first met with IDF soldiers wounded in the war, offering heartfelt words of gratitude and admiration:

“You are heroes. You have saved the State of Israel and uplifted our spirit. I am deeply moved by the mental strength each of you shows — for your personal and national rehabilitation. Seeing you fills me with strength and boundless gratitude.”

He then toured the specialized medical facilities designated to receive the returning hostages and their families, commending the readiness and professionalism of the Israeli medical teams, who have been working tirelessly to ensure the highest level of physical and psychological care.

The Prime Minister was accompanied by Chief of Staff Tzachi Braverman, Military Secretary Maj.-Gen. Roman Gofman, Hostage Coordinator Brig.-Gen. (Res.) Gal Hirsch, IDF Personnel Directorate Head Maj.-Gen. Dado Bar Kalifa, and Sheba Medical Center Director General Prof. Yitshak Kreiss.

Standing at the heart of Israel’s leading medical institution, Netanyahu said the preparations reflect Israel’s moral strength and unwavering commitment to every citizen, noting that “Operation Returning Home” represents not only a military success but a profound moral victory of life over terror.Moments before the onset of Shabbat, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu arrived at Sheba Medical Center to oversee final preparations for the arrival and care of the freed hostages under Operation Returning Home — a mission symbolizing both national triumph and human redemption.
