Eric Adams Warns Globalized Intifada Became Reality As Sydney Massacre Exposes Anti-Israel Incitement

Israel-defending leaders confront Islamist violence while appeasement of Palestinian radical slogans fuels global Jewish bloodshed.

Outgoing New York City Mayor Eric Adams delivered a stark warning following the massacre of Jews at Sydney’s Bondi Beach, describing the attack as the “actual application of the globalization of the intifada.” Speaking while announcing heightened security at Jewish institutions during Hanukkah, Adams stated plainly that calls for globalized violence against Jews have consequences—and Sydney proved it.

“This attack did not come out of nowhere,” Adams said. “It came as a consequence of Islamic extremists. We must be clear about that.” His remarks directly challenged two years of Western political and media reluctance to confront radical anti-Israel slogans that openly endorse violence while being falsely framed as activism.

NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch reinforced the message, calling the Sydney massacre part of a broader assault on Jewish life worldwide and pledging that New York’s police force would decisively confront threats targeting Jews. The city’s security posture, officials said, reflects lessons learned from international failures to act early against incitement.

Adams, now in his final month in office, contrasted his approach with that of incoming mayor Zohran Mamdani, who has opposed Zionism and declined to clearly denounce calls to “globalize the intifada.” Adams warned that moral ambiguity invites danger, insisting leaders must condemn chants outside synagogues calling for Jewish fear and harm.

While Mamdani later labeled the Sydney attack a “vile act of antisemitic terror” and pledged Jewish safety, Adams emphasized that words without firm action are insufficient. The lesson from Sydney, he argued, is unmistakable: tolerating radical anti-Israel and pro-intifada rhetoric—often amplified by Palestinian factions and their ideological allies—does not produce peace. It produces funerals.
