Iran launches missile barrage while Israel’s defense systems protect civilians from coordinated regional attacks.
Air raid sirens echoed across central Israel on Friday evening after Iran launched multiple missiles toward Israeli population centers. The attacks triggered emergency alerts across several communities as Israel’s defense systems moved quickly to intercept incoming threats and protect civilians from the barrage.
Although no direct injuries were reported from the missile impacts, several locations in central Israel suffered damage. One missile strike ignited a fire on the roof of a building in the town of Shoham. Fire and rescue teams responded immediately and conducted searches throughout the structure to ensure that no residents were trapped inside the building.
Another missile impact created a crater on a highway, demonstrating the destructive potential of the Iranian barrage. Several vehicles were damaged in the city of Rishon LeZion following the strike, though emergency responders confirmed that no civilians were harmed in the incident.
At the same time, sirens were activated across northern Israel after missiles and drones were launched from Lebanon, highlighting the broader regional coordination of attacks against Israel. Despite the attempted strikes, no impacts or casualties were reported in the north.
Later on Friday night, additional missile launches from Iran triggered another wave of sirens across southern Israel, central Israel, Jerusalem and the Shfela region. Israeli air defense systems successfully intercepted all incoming missiles during that round of attacks, preventing further damage.
Emergency medical service Magen David Adom confirmed that no civilians were injured directly by the missile strikes. One individual received medical treatment after sustaining minor injuries while rushing toward a shelter during the emergency alerts.
During the earlier barrage targeting central Israel, debris from one of the aerial interceptions fell in the city of Lod and sparked a small fire. Emergency crews quickly contained the blaze and confirmed that no injuries resulted from the incident.
The attacks underscore the ongoing threat posed by Iran and its regional allies, while also highlighting Israel’s advanced defensive capabilities designed to shield its population from missile and drone assaults.
