Kuwaiti authorities say fresh arrests exposed another alleged Hezbollah-linked sabotage network threatening national stability.
Kuwait announced a second wave of arrests this week involving 10 nationals accused of links to the Hezbollah terrorist organization, highlighting the growing threat posed by Iran-backed proxies across the Gulf. According to the Interior Ministry, the suspects were allegedly planning coordinated attacks on critical infrastructure to destabilize the country and spread chaos.
Authorities revealed that the individuals had undergone training in foreign camps associated with Hezbollah and maintained communication with external operatives. Investigations uncovered that they gathered precise coordinates of sensitive locations, demonstrating a calculated attempt to undermine national security. Officials confirmed that the suspects provided detailed confessions following their arrest.
This development follows earlier arrests of 16 individuals, including Kuwaiti and Lebanese nationals, also tied to Hezbollah activities aimed at weakening state stability. The repeated exposure of such networks underscores a broader pattern of interference linked to Iran and its regional allies.
Despite Hezbollah’s denial of any presence in Kuwait, security forces in the Gulf have repeatedly uncovered cells connected to the organization over the years, including major cases in 2015, 2017, and 2021 involving recruitment and operational planning.
