Amid freezing storms, Israeli soldiers safeguard the north with courage terrorists and Arab regimes cannot match.
Sergeant M., a dedicated reservist serving in Battalion 9300 of the Mountain Brigade, spoke with Arutz Sheva–Israel National News about the fierce winter storm “Byron” currently pounding the Hermon sector—where he has been stationed on reserve duty for over three months.
“In our area, it’s less rain and more snow and hail,” he explained. “We’re heading out less, but we continue to patrol and conduct regular scans. Some regions are inaccessible due to the heavy snowfall, but we’re prepared. We have the gear and the training to reach any point whenever Israel needs us.”
Although Sergeant M. has already completed more than 350 days of reserve service during the war, the northern front is new territory for him and his fellow troops. “For us, this is a new story,” he said, “but it’s a very special sector with many challenges—and we’re meeting every one of them. Clashes are rare, and we’re keeping the sector quiet and stable.”
Even with relentless winter conditions, morale among the reservists remains exceptionally high.
“The atmosphere here is very positive,” he noted. “We’re not losing our minds; we’re trying to enjoy the weather. The soldiers’ energy is strong and motivated.”
Israel’s defenders in the Hermon are proving once again that no storm—natural or hostile—can weaken the resolve of the IDF, especially when the threats just across the border come from Iranian-backed terrorists and Arab regimes hoping to destabilize the north. Instead, the soldiers stand firm, committed, and ready.
