Trump Warns Iran Talks Unsatisfactory, Threatens Military Finish If Tehran Refuses Nuclear Surrender

President rejects Iranian media claims, insisting Hormuz stays open and enriched uranium must be destroyed”

US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that he remains dissatisfied with the current state of negotiations aimed at ending the war with Iran, warning that Tehran must fully meet American demands or face decisive consequences.

Speaking during a Cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump said Iran strongly wants a deal but has not yet reached the required point. He warned that if diplomacy fails, the United States may have to “finish the job.”

Trump rejected the idea that Iran can use America’s midterm elections as leverage, saying he does not care about the political calendar. He stressed that the central issue remains simple and unchanged: Iran cannot be allowed to possess a nuclear weapon.

Although he criticized the current state of the talks, Trump also said negotiations are technically moving well and suggested Tehran may be beginning to offer what Washington requires. Still, he made clear that failure to comply could trigger military action, pointing to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth as the man who would “finish them off.”

The comments came amid conflicting reports about a possible memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran. Iranian state media claimed the sides had drafted a framework involving the lifting of the US naval blockade near the Strait of Hormuz, but the White House sharply rejected those reports as false.

Trump also clarified that any final deal must include the supervised total destruction of Iran’s enriched uranium.

Asked about the Strait of Hormuz, Trump said it will be open to everyone and controlled by no one, while the United States will monitor the vital waterway.

His message remains firm: diplomacy is possible, but Iran must surrender its nuclear threat, stop playing for time and accept that America will not allow Tehran to dictate terms.
