Freed hostages thank Trump: You were our hope

US President meets a group of hostages who were recently released by Hamas. Naama Levy: “You were our hope when you were there, and now you’re their hope.”

US President Donald Trump met on Wednesday with a group of hostages who were recently released by Hamas.

The delegation includes captivity survivors Eli Sharabi, Keith and Aviva Siegel, Naama Levy, Doron Steinbrecher, Iair Horn, Omer Shem Tov, and Noa Argamani.

“My family and I, myself, we believe you’ve been sent by God to release us. You can really help. You have the power to do this,” Omer Shem Tov told the President.

Naama Levy added, “You were our hope when you were there, and now you’re their hope.”

Trump asked, “So you didn’t think, until I came along, you didn’t think you were going to get out?”

Levy replied, “No. Once you were elected, we heard that you wanted to do everything to make a deal as soon as possible.”

“We were so happy,” said Eli Sharabi.

Trump responded, “Well, we said ‘you better let us have those people back. You better let them out.’ We did say that, and something happened. Now we’ve got to get the rest out.”

The captivity survivors presented President Trump with a gold plaque inscribed with the words: “Whoever saves one life saves the world entire.”

Speaking after the meeting with Trump, Keith Siegel said, “We are here today in Washington, D.C., a group of released hostages who came to the White House to express our great appreciation and gratitude for President Trump and to his special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff. They made the deal possible, they got us all home and we urge them to continue their enormous efforts.”

“They’ve done so much up to now and we trust them and we know that they will get the job done and get all of the 59 remaining hostages in Gaza back to their families, back to Israel as soon as possible. Thank you very much President Trump. Thank you very much Steve Witkoff and the Trump administration,” added Siegel.

Eli Sharabi said, “We came to the White House today as captivity survivors to ensure that the 59 hostages still being held will be released through an agreement for their return as soon as possible. Thank you to President Trump and Witkoff who are committed to this goal.”
