Gergely Gulyás, minister in the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, says his country has decided to leave the ICC in light of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming visit.

Gergely Gulyás, minister in the Hungarian Prime Minister’s Office, has announced that his country has decided to leave the International Criminal Court (ICC) at Hague, in light of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s upcoming visit to Hungary.

Last year, the ICC issued arrest warrants for Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant. In his statement, Gulyás said that the Hungarian government will begin the process of exiting the ICC on Thursday.

Hungary is the first ICC member state to host Netanyahu, and its government has already clarified that it will not allow Netanyahu to be arrested.
