Adar: I salute the security forces who took participated in eliminating the terrorist Muhammad Rasmi Marzouq Barakeh, from military intelligence of Hamas, infiltrated Israel during the October 7th Massacre and abducted Yaffa Adar.
The IDF and ISA on Wednesday struck and eliminated in the area of Gaza City, the terrorist Muhammad Rasmi Marzouq Barakeh, a terrorist in the military intelligence of Hamas.
On October 7th, 2023, Barakeh infiltrated Israel and participated in the abduction of 87-year-old Yaffa Adar from Kibbutz Nir Oz.
Adar’s grandson, Tamir, was murdered by the Hamas terrorists during the massacre.
“I salute the security forces who took part in eliminating the terrorist who brutally abducted me from my home on that cursed Saturday. Upon seeing the video and the news about the terrorist’s elimination, one might think I would feel a sense of closure.
“I want to clarify and emphasize that there is no possibility of closure as long as my eldest grandson, Tamir, who went out to defend the community, was injured, abducted, and did not survive his wounds, remains held captive in Gaza along with 58 other hostages. The only victory that will allow us to recover is the return of all the hostages,” Adar said.
Following the elimination, she commented: “I salute the security forces who took part in eliminating the terrorist who brutally abducted me from my home on that cursed Saturday. Upon seeing the video and the news about the terrorist’s elimination, one might think I would feel a sense of closure.

Adar became one of the symbols of the massacre, with the photo of her being led on her mobility scooter while surrounded by terrorists illustrating the brutality of the attack. After she was released from captivity, she told Channel 12: “I still can’t sleep. I’m apparently afraid to fall asleep. I take sleeping pills, and I can’t. I think captivity aged me. But I think I learned something about myself that I didn’t know.”
She recounted the moment of the abduction. “They came in and held me so I wouldn’t run, and they wanted money. I took them to the bedroom, I had a bag there, and I said, ‘Take it.’ And then they took me by force. They held my hands, sat me down, and drove. I was disconnected, maybe I told them to leave me, but I didn’t really have what to tell them. There were a lot of them, you wouldn’t believe how many. I prayed to hear a military helicopter, for it to shoot something. I showed confidence thanks to my children, so that they know, see, that I’m there for them. I won’t break. Be proud of me, I didn’t break. I told myself that I won’t let them break me. I wouldn’t give them the pleasure of seeing me afraid. I didn’t cry, I didn’t shed a tear.”
