65-year-old Ilya Rachitsky from Ofakim vanished last Tuesday while hiking MacLaurin’s Crossing trail near Whistler, Canada. Personal items were found near the Cheakamus River, where strong currents pose a danger.
Rachitsky was in Canada with his wife after their return to Israel was delayed by the Iran conflict.
Rescue teams, volunteers, and the Israeli Embassy are working tirelessly. Witnesses last saw him drifting in the river.
