Israel Cracks Down on Illegal Residency: Over 370 Infiltrators and 60 Aiders Arrested in Nationwide Sweep

In a sweeping week-long enforcement campaign, Israeli Border Police officers arrested more than 370 illegal infiltrators and nearly 60 individuals suspected of assisting them, authorities announced Sunday.

The nationwide operation—led under the directive of Border Police Commander Deputy Commissioner Berik Yitzhak—targeted violations of residency laws and involved coordinated raids across all regions of the country.

Breakdown of Arrests:

  • Jerusalem and Surrounding Areas:
135 illegal infiltrators were detained, along with 27 individuals suspected of transporting, employing, or housing them.
  • Other Regions (North, Center, South, Coastal Areas, and Seam Line with Judea and Samaria):
238 additional illegal residents were apprehended, alongside 34 suspects aiding their movement or presence.

This concerted effort reflects Israel’s intensified push to reinforce internal security and combat illegal residency, particularly amid heightened regional tensions.
