Report: Iranian President wounded in Israeli attack

Iranian President Lightly Injured in Israeli Strike on Tehran Meeting, Fars Reports

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sustained minor leg injuries during an Israeli strike on a government building in western Tehran on June 16, amid the recent war, according to a report by Fars News Agency, which is affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).

The targeted strike reportedly occurred while President Pezeshkian, Parliament Speaker, and the Chief of the Judiciary were holding a high-level meeting. Fars detailed that six munitions were launched toward the building’s exits, suggesting a calculated effort to trap or eliminate those inside.

Although electricity on the targeted floor was knocked out, the report says all officials escaped via an emergency exit, avoiding major casualties.

The operation, Fars noted, bore similarities to previous Israeli attempts on Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, implying a potential shift toward direct high-value targeting in Israeli tactics.

If verified, the incident would mark an extraordinary escalation, signaling Israel’s willingness to strike deep into the Iranian capital and target the upper echelon of the regime during active hostilities.
