As Syrian regime and jihadist forces wage a campaign of terror against the Druze in As-Suwayda, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu urges unwavering Israeli support, and the IAF responds with precise airstrikes against regime targets.
Amid a horrifying resurgence of brutality in southern Syria, Rabbi Shmuel Eliyahu has called on Israel to act decisively against the atrocities being committed against the Druze community — a people bound to Israel by shared sacrifice and historic loyalty.
“The Druze are not just neighbors; they are our brothers in arms,” Rabbi Eliyahu declared. “To remain silent as they are humiliated, hunted, and murdered is to betray every moral value the Torah commands of us.” His words follow deeply disturbing scenes unfolding in As-Suwayda, where forces loyal to jihadist leader Ahmad al-Sharaa — better known as al-Julani — have stormed the city, unleashing a campaign of terror not seen since Assad’s grip weakened in the region.
In the past 24 hours alone, shocking footage has emerged: revered Druze sheikhs being captured, forcibly shaved, mocked, and paraded in acts of psychological warfare designed to degrade and break a proud community. Hundreds have been killed, according to early estimates.
Now back under the regime’s iron fist, As-Suwayda faces military raids, arbitrary gunfire at civilians, and tanks occupying its center. Civilians are paying the price — in blood and dignity.
In response, the Israeli Air Force launched targeted strikes on Syrian regime assets. Armored convoys heading toward the Druze stronghold were neutralized. Weapons depots, artillery positions, and key military targets in southern Syria were bombed to blunt the regime’s aggression.
This was not just a show of strength — it was a moral stand.
“We will not allow those who share a blood pact with Israel to be slaughtered,” Rabbi Eliyahu affirmed. “This is our duty — religiously, ethically, and historically.”
