Defense Minister Israel Katz declares Israel is nearing full war objectives, calling for decisive final blows in Gaza and Yemen, while preparing for renewed confrontation with Iran.
Jerusalem, July 17, 2025 — In a high-stakes multi-front security summit held Tuesday night, Defense Minister Israel Katz issued a bold declaration: Israel is closer than ever to achieving total victory in its ongoing war against terror, but two critical fronts — Gaza and Yemen — still demand unflinching resolve.
Joined by IDF Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir, as well as top brass from the Mossad, Shin Bet, and senior military leadership, Katz led a comprehensive strategic review of the regional threats facing Israel.
“We are at the closest point to achieving the war’s objectives,” Katz stated, “Two fronts remain — Gaza and Yemen — and we must act decisively to fully resolve them.”
Katz underscored the IDF’s alignment with national policy, highlighting that the return of all hostages and the complete dismantling of Hamas remain non-negotiable mission goals. He praised recent military gains but cautioned against complacency.
🔥 Possible Showdown with Iran Looms
Katz issued a stark warning about Iran’s ongoing nuclear ambitions, raising the possibility of renewed offensive operations against Tehran. Referring to Operation Rising Lion, he emphasized that maintaining Israeli air dominance and denying Iran the ability to revive its missile programs is vital to long-term regional stability.
“We must preserve the achievements of Rising Lion and prevent Iran from restarting its nuclear and missile capabilities,” he said.
⚔️ Gaza and Yemen: The Final Fronts
While praising IDF performance, Katz emphasized that Gaza and Yemen remain active battlegrounds. He called for continued, doctrinally aggressive military operations, referencing the successful Israeli strikes in Iran, Lebanon, and Syria as precedent.
“Now is the time for full resolution — not partial containment,” Katz declared.
🛡 Strategic Positioning in the North
Katz also addressed northern threats from Lebanon and Syria, reaffirming Israel’s commitment to holding key strategic zones to shield civilian populations. “Control of essential buffer zones is critical to defending Israeli communities,” he stressed.
He directed the IDF to remain on high alert and maintain readiness for potential escalations across multiple fronts.
💣 Terror Hubs in Judea and Samaria
Turning to internal security, Katz commended the IDF for successful counterterror operations in northern Samaria, especially within refugee camps that have become hotbeds of militant activity. He ordered the continued military presence in the region and preparation for additional strikes should new threats emerge.
