Benny Gantz, former War Cabinet member, has vehemently condemned international pressure on Israel, particularly accusations of “purposeful starvation” and “genocide,” asserting that such claims are intentionally orchestrated by Hamas to leverage negotiations and are actively hindering a Gaza ceasefire and hostage release.
In a fiery social media post on Thursday, Blue and White Chairman MK Benny Gantz unleashed a sharp condemnation of mounting international pressure on Israel, arguing it directly empowers the Hamas terror organization and obstructs efforts to secure a ceasefire and bring hostages home.
Gantz, who served in the War Cabinet during the “critical first 8 months of the war in Gaza” – a period he highlighted for “securing the release of over 100 hostages” – minced no words. He asserted, “What was true then, remains true today: International pressure on Israel, particularly by distorted claims of purposeful starvation or ‘genocide,’ is perceived, intentionally orchestrated and peddled by Hamas as negotiation leverage.”
The veteran politician went on to warn of the severe consequences of such pressure, stating that it “significantly hampers the prospects of a ceasefire deal that would bring the hostages home & restore stability to Gaza.”
Gantz concluded his powerful message with a direct appeal to the global community: “The world must stand united in demanding maximum pressure on the terrorists who initiated this war on Oct. 7.” His remarks come amidst ongoing, complex negotiations for a Gaza ceasefire, where, as reported earlier, Hamas has been accused of backtracking on previously agreed-upon terms, intensifying the diplomatic deadlock.
