GHF Chief: Hamas Weaponizes Food Shortages as Bargaining Chip in Gaza Talks

Global Humanitarian Foundation’s top manager says Hamas is deliberately exploiting food scarcity claims to pressure negotiators while aid agencies fail to deliver supplies effectively.

Hamas Using ‘Famine’ Narrative as a Negotiating Tool

In an exclusive interview with i24 News, the manager of the Global Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) accused Hamas of cynically manipulating food shortage narratives to gain leverage in ceasefire and hostage negotiations.

“They are not simply victims of a shortage—they are actively weaponizing it,” the GHF chief stressed.

Failure of Aid Delivery Networks

The manager pointed to serious inefficiencies and blockages within international aid organizations, accusing them of failing to ensure that food and essential supplies reach Gaza’s most vulnerable.
According to him, while aid flows into the Strip, distribution is disrupted by Hamas control and mismanagement, leaving civilians to bear the brunt.

Famine Claims ‘Politicized’

Hamas has consistently claimed that Gaza is on the brink of famine—a narrative the GHF head said is being inflated to shape global opinion and extract concessions in political talks.
This aligns with Israeli officials’ repeated assertions that aid theft by Hamas prevents relief from reaching those in need.

Political Leverage Over Humanitarian Crisis

The GHF manager warned that humanitarian suffering is being converted into a bargaining tool, with Hamas using the threat of starvation as currency in ongoing negotiations.
The result: innocent civilians caught between political maneuvering and logistical failure.
