Macron & Starmer’s Dangerous Gamble: Recognition of “Hamastan” Puts Hostages’ Lives in Mortal Peril

By promising to recognize a Palestinian state while Hamas still rules Gaza and holds Israeli hostages, the leaders of France and Britain are rewarding terror, betraying morality, and endangering every remaining hostage’s life.

Do the governments of Britain and France want the hostages in Gaza to die? Or do they simply not care?
Those are the only logical conclusions after French President Emmanuel Macron announced he will formally recognize a Hamas-controlled “State of Palestine” at the UN in September — and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer threatened to do the same if Hamas still rules Gaza by then.

Yes — the same Hamas that:

  • Still holds 50 Israeli hostages and 20 confirmed living captives.
  • Steals food from its own people.
  • Executes Palestinians for minor “crimes” under its brutal Sharia rule.
  • Committed the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust on October 7.
  • Uses rape as a weapon of war.
  • Exists solely to commit genocide against Jews.

And yet, Britain and France are preparing to give this death cult the ultimate prize — international legitimacy.

Why Would Hamas Ever Free the Hostages Now?

Recognition without conditions is a terrorist’s dream. If Hamas can gain international statehood while still holding hostages and ruling Gaza, why should it negotiate? Why should it release a single captive? Why should it ever give up power?

These reckless moves send Hamas a crystal-clear message:

“You can butcher civilians, kidnap Jews, terrorize Israel, and still be rewarded with statehood.”

International Pressure Already Helped Hamas Torpedo Ceasefire Talks

It was precisely the pressure from Britain, France, and other Western governments that convinced Hamas last week it could reject a ceasefire and survive. Despite losing nearly all of its leadership and most of its fighting force, Hamas still believes it can win the war by losing on the battlefield but winning in the propaganda arena — aided by global antisemitism and Western diplomatic cover.

Rewarding Evil is Evil

France and Britain know exactly who Hamas is. They know a Hamas-run Gaza is a dictatorship without freedom, constantly preparing new massacres. Yet they push ahead with recognition of “Palestine” at any cost — even if that cost is:

  • The lives of the remaining hostages.
  • The memory of those butchered on October 7.
  • The safety of Jewish citizens in Israel and in their own countries.

The Two-State Fantasy is Dead

The so-called Two-State Solution was murdered 25 years ago when Yasser Arafat rejected peace and unleashed a campaign of mass murder. Today’s Palestinian Authority under Mahmoud Abbas is corrupt, incompetent, and incapable of stopping its pay-to-slay program for terrorists.

Reviving this dead idea now — while Hamas still rules Gaza — is not peacebuilding. It is appeasing evil.

The Blood Will Be on Their Hands

If the hostages are not brought home alive, the blame will not rest solely with Hamas. Their blood will stain the hands of Emmanuel Macron and Keir Starmer, who chose to give Hamas legitimacy instead of demanding justice.

By siding with the butchers over the victims, Britain and France have made their position clear: Jewish lives are cheap.
