At 15:00 EST/22:00 Israel time, the UN Security Council will convene at Israel’s request to address the hostage crisis, with FM Gideon Sa’ar and Ilay David, brother of hostage Evyatar David, set to speak.

New York/Jerusalem — At 15:00 EST (22:00 Israel Time), the UN Security Council will hold an emergency session on the hostage crisis in Gaza, initiated by Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar.

Minister Sa’ar will deliver a formal address to the Council, pressing for immediate international action to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas since the October 7 massacre.

Joining the session virtually will be Ilay David, brother of hostage Evyatar David, whose emaciated condition was revealed in a recent Hamas propaganda video. Ilay is expected to share a deeply personal account of his family’s ordeal and issue a global call for urgent intervention before time runs out for his brother and other captives.

The meeting comes amid mounting Israeli and international pressure on the UN and humanitarian organizations to gain access to the hostages, provide medical aid, and demand their unconditional release.
