Deputy FM Sharren Haskel: “Israel Cannot Halt the War — Germany and France Must Face Consequences”

Deputy Foreign Minister Sharren Haskel vows Israel will not bow to European pressure, urging strong action against France and accusing Germany of siding with Arab interests.

In a defiant message to the international community, Deputy Foreign Minister MK Sharren Haskel declared that Israel has no intention of halting its war efforts, despite growing pressure from European governments. Speaking to Arutz Sheva – Israel National News, Haskel warned that backing down now would hand a strategic victory to Israel’s adversaries.

“Our enemies have exploited every possible front — foreign media, social networks, international bodies, and legal institutions — to try to defeat us,” she said. “They have done so since the war began and will continue to do so.”

Haskel sharply criticized Germany’s recent announcement that it would block weapons sales to Israel if they were to be used in Gaza, calling it yet another instance of Berlin prioritizing “Arab interests over Jewish interests.”

She also targeted France for its leading role in promoting recognition of a Palestinian state.

“France must bear a cost for advancing this agenda at Israel’s expense — whether by closing its embassy or, more appropriately, shutting down the French consulate in Jerusalem,” Haskel asserted.

The deputy minister’s comments come amid intensifying diplomatic rifts between Israel and key European capitals, as calls for a ceasefire and political concessions mount.

Addressing recent personal attacks against her and her family following her visit to the Temple Mount, Haskel drew a firm line:

“It is time to declare clearly that there are red lines which must be preserved — and some actions are simply unacceptable.”

Haskel’s stance reflects a growing sentiment among Israeli leadership that yielding to external pressure could undermine the nation’s long-term security and sovereignty.
