Fake Viral Claim That IDF Shot Gazan Child at Aid Site Unravels Under New Evidence

Bodycam footage, witness statements, and contradictions from the alleged victim’s family cast serious doubt on explosive claims made by a former Gaza aid contractor.

A viral accusation that IDF soldiers shot and killed a Gazan boy at an aid distribution site is now under intense scrutiny, with newly uncovered evidence contradicting the original account, The Daily Wire reported Monday.

The claim originated from Tony Aguilar, a former contractor for the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), who alleged that on May 28 he witnessed a child named “Amir” gunned down by Israeli forces during food distribution.

However, videos obtained by The Daily Wire tell a different story. In one clip, a woman identifying herself as the boy’s stepmother, Siham Al-Jarabe’a, says “Amir” — whose real name she gave as Abdul Rahim Mohammed Hamdan Al-Jarabe’a — was alive two months after the alleged shooting and only went missing on July 28. She expressed belief that her stepson is still alive, adding that he had never even visited the distribution site where Aguilar claimed the killing occurred.

The GHF flatly denied any such incident happened on May 28, further noting that Aguilar would not have been in a position to witness it if it had. Bodycam footage from that day reportedly does not match Aguilar’s description of events.

When confronted with the footage, Aguilar argued that the video “misses the moments of the key elements” but insisted:

“I did not embellish. And it is clearly evident that Amir and I had the interaction.”

A security contractor who wore the bodycam countered sharply, calling Aguilar’s account “completely fabricated.”

For her part, Siham Al-Jarabe’a suggested Aguilar was mistaken about the date of the footage and reiterated that the boy had never been at the aid site.

The revelations raise fresh questions about the reliability of viral war-zone narratives, particularly in the high-stakes information battles surrounding the Gaza conflict.
