Israeli defense giant Elbit Systems has landed a $1.635 billion contract with a European nation to supply advanced AI-powered weaponry, surveillance, and military digitization systems.
In one of its largest European deals to date, Elbit Systems announced Wednesday it has signed a $1.635 billion defense contract with an undisclosed European country, cementing its role as a major global supplier of cutting-edge military technology.
The sweeping agreement spans land, air, communications, and digital warfare capabilities, with artificial intelligence woven into every system. Elbit says the package is designed to give its client a decisive technological edge on the modern battlefield.
The deal covers two major categories:
- Long-Range Precision Firepower & Autonomous Air Power — This includes precision artillery rocket systems and an extensive lineup of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), from personal tactical drones for reconnaissance to combat-grade platforms capable of direct strikes.
- Next-Gen Intelligence & Electronic Warfare — The arsenal features advanced ISTAR (Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition, and Reconnaissance) platforms, COMINT (communications intelligence), SIGINT (signals intelligence), and full-spectrum electronic warfare tools.
In addition, Elbit will deliver state-of-the-art electro-optics, upgrade existing combat vehicles, enhance night-vision capabilities, and integrate an advanced military digitization suite — complete with next-generation communications hardware and software for fully networked operations.
The company emphasized that these systems draw from Elbit’s AI-powered defense portfolio, offering faster decision-making, superior targeting, and enhanced situational awareness.
The contract underscores Europe’s increasing appetite for high-tech, combat-ready solutions amid mounting security concerns — and further solidifies Israel’s position as a leading exporter of military innovation.
