President Herzog at Hostages Square: “Stop the Hypocrisy — Press Hamas Until They Release Them”

In an emotional visit to Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, President Isaac Herzog demanded global action for the immediate release of Israelis still held in Gaza, blasting the international community for its hypocrisy.

President Isaac Herzog visited Hostages Square in Tel Aviv on Sunday morning, where he met with families of the more than 50 Israelis still held hostage by Hamas in Gaza.

Standing alongside grieving relatives, Herzog issued a direct challenge to the world: “Our sons and daughters are in the dungeons of Gaza for 681 days. We want them back home as soon as possible. The world should want them back home as soon as possible. Stop being a bunch of hypocrites. Press Hamas — no deal, no nothing, until you release them.”

Herzog stressed that the plight of the hostages must remain at the center of world affairs, declaring: “They are the most important issue. We want them back home now.”

Among those at his side were Sharon Sharabi, whose brother Eli endured 491 days in Hamas captivity after losing his wife and daughters to the October 7 massacre, and Yael Adar, the mother of fallen IDF soldier Tamir Adar, whose body is still being held in Gaza.

After addressing the media, the President met privately with additional hostage families, offering solidarity and support in their ongoing agony.
