“689 Days in Hamas Tunnels: Family of Hostage Nimrod Cohen Releases Chilling Kidnapping Footage”

Nearly two years after his abduction, Nimrod Cohen’s family shares shocking footage of his kidnapping, pleading with Israel’s leaders to seize the deal that could finally bring him—and dozens of others—home.

The family of hostage Nimrod Cohen, who has been held captive in Hamas tunnels for 689 days, on Monday released harrowing new footage showing the moment of his abduction. The video, seized by the IDF and handed to the family, captures Nimrod being led at gunpoint into Gaza by Hamas terrorists on October 7, 2023.

His mother, Viki Cohen, issued an emotional plea:
“We decided to show the world this video today – to expose the cruelty with which Hamas kidnapped my son. Nimrod is a gentle soul, yet for nearly two years he has been trapped underground, cut off from family and friends. We don’t know if he’s eating, if he’s injured. We only know he is alive, suffering in the hands of terrorists.”

She warned that hostages face execution if the IDF approaches:
“We already lost the beautiful six this way, a year ago. That is why, now that there is a deal on the table, we urge our government to be bold and sign it. If we miss this window, it will mean endless months of more suffering. Fifty families are waiting. The hostages must come home—now!”

Nimrod’s brother, Yotam Cohen, stressed the urgency:
“Just last week, Hamas gave a positive response to the partial deal—10 living hostages and 18 deceased. This agreement could have been signed immediately. Instead, the government drags its feet while families like ours are forced to show this horrific footage of Nimrod to prove what the hostages are enduring nearly two years later.”

Calling on the public to act, he added:
“We are asking the people of Israel to join us in the streets tomorrow. Stop the country. Show the government and the world that Israel demands an end to this war and the safe return of every single hostage.”

The chilling video has reignited public outrage, intensifying pressure on Prime Minister Netanyahu’s government to move forward with the partial deal that could reunite grieving families with their loved ones—alive or dead.
