Former President Donald Trump launched a blistering attack on billionaire George Soros and his son Alexander, accusing them of bankrolling violent unrest and calling for federal racketeering charges.
Former President Donald Trump issued a fiery statement on Wednesday, demanding that billionaire financier George Soros and his son Alexander Soros face prosecution under the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO).
“George Soros, and his wonderful radical left son, should be charged with RICO because of their support of violent protests, and much more, all throughout the United States of America,” Trump wrote in a social media post. “Soros and his group of psychopaths have caused great damage to our country!”
Trump’s remarks reflect longstanding conservative criticism of Soros and his Open Society Foundations (OSF), which channel vast sums into progressive causes across the United States. OSF funding has supported NGOs focused on criminal justice reform, immigration policy, and campus activism, though critics claim many of these initiatives fuel unrest and undermine U.S. values.
According to NGO Monitor, Soros-backed groups have also funded organizations aligned with the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign and other movements hostile to Israel, further inflaming criticism from pro-Israel circles. Public records have linked OSF to J Street, a Washington advocacy group often at odds with Israel’s government. On U.S. campuses, Soros-funded entities have been tied to pro-Palestinian demonstrations that have sparked controversy for their rhetoric and tactics.
Trump did not stop at Soros himself, warning his “crazy, West Coast friends” to tread carefully:
“Be careful, we’re watching you! We’re not going to allow these lunatics to rip apart America any more, never giving it so much as a chance to ‘breathe,’ and be free.”
As of publication, neither George Soros nor the Open Society Foundations has responded to Trump’s accusations.
