Israeli security agencies scored a major counter-terror victory in recent weeks after IDF and Shin Bet forces arrested a Hamas cell from Hebron accused of plotting to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
According to the Shin Bet, the operatives were directed by Hamas headquarters in Turkey and had already acquired several drones, which they intended to load with explosives for the attack. The drones were confiscated during the raid.
The suspects are now under intensive Shin Bet interrogation, with officials warning that the case highlights Hamas’ ongoing attempts to export terror command-and-control operations from abroad into Israel’s heartland.
