“Dehumanizing”: Australian Actor Nate Buzz Slams Coldplay’s Chris Martin Over Awkward Israel Comment

Nate Buzz blasts Chris Martin for treating Israeli fans as “conditionally human,” calling it proof of the world’s bias against Israel’s right to exist and defend itself.

A storm has erupted after Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s onstage exchange with two Israeli fans sparked outrage — and now, Australian actor Nathaniel Buzolic (Nate Buzz) has entered the fray.

At a recent London concert, Martin invited two women, Avia and Yael, on stage. When they introduced themselves as being from Israel, the crowd split between applause and boos. Martin, visibly uneasy, replied:

“I’m very grateful that you’re here, as human, and I’m treating you as equal humans on earth, regardless of where you come from, or don’t come from.”

He then extended a parallel welcome to Palestinians in the audience.

But speaking in a special interview with Arutz Sheva – Israel National News, Nate Buzz branded the comment “dehumanizing.”

“If the roles were reversed, and two Palestinian girls came on stage, would the artist feel the need to say, ‘Well, it’s okay. You’re still a human even though you’re Palestinian’? I don’t think so,” Buzz argued.

The actor noted that Martin’s words highlighted a global double standard: Palestinians are routinely met with sympathy, while Israelis’ legitimacy is undermined.

“There’s a real comfortable position for the world to be pro-Palestinian,” Buzz explained. “And there’s a real uncomfortable position to say: I believe in Israel’s right to exist, its right to sovereignty over its land, and most importantly, its right to defend itself against radical jihadist Islamic ideologies. That’s what the world avoids.”

Buzz’s sharp rebuke has fueled debate over how celebrities balance calls for peace with recognition of Israel’s rights — and whether Coldplay’s message of “equality” came at the expense of Israeli dignity.
