The IDF struck a high-rise in Gaza City housing Hamas’ terror command center and tunnel network, warning civilians beforehand to minimize casualties.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced Friday that it struck a high-rise building in Gaza City being used by the Hamas terrorist organization as a command and operations hub.
According to the IDF, Hamas had fortified the building with advanced infrastructure, including an underground complex directly beneath it. From there, terrorists coordinated ambushes, directed attacks against Israeli troops, and used the tunnels as escape routes.
In carrying out the precision strike, the IDF emphasized that multiple precautionary measures were taken to minimize civilian casualties. These included advanced warnings to residents, the deployment of highly accurate munitions, and real-time aerial surveillance guided by intelligence.
“The terrorist organizations in Gaza systematically violate international law by embedding military assets in civilian areas and using the local population as human shields,” the IDF stated.
The military vowed to continue dismantling Hamas’ terror infrastructure across the Gaza Strip until the threat against Israeli forces and civilians is neutralized.
