Mahmoud Afana, the Hamas gunman who chillingly bragged to his parents about murdering 10 Israelis during the October 7 massacre, was killed in an Israeli airstrike on Deir al-Balah.
The terrorist who proudly admitted to slaughtering 10 Israelis in the October 7 massacre has been killed in Gaza. Mahmoud Afana died in an airstrike on Deir al-Balah on Thursday, according to reports.
Afana’s gruesome boasting was first exposed during a United Nations Security Council session, when then–Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen released audio of the terrorist calling his family from a victim’s phone.
The Boastful Call From a Victim’s Phone
In the recording, Afana bragged to his father:
“I’m talking to you from a Jewish woman’s phone. I killed her and her husband; with my own hands, I killed 10.”
He repeated the claim several times, insisting:
“Dad, 10 with my own hands. I killed 10. Their blood is on my hands. Give me Mom.”
His mother blessed him:
“Oh my son, may God protect you.”
Afana replied:
“Mom, your son is a hero.”
Even his brother joined the call, asking: “You killed 10?” Afana confirmed: “Yes, I swear, I killed 10 with my own hands.”
Afana refused pleas to retreat:
“Return? There’s no return. It’s either death or victory… Open WhatsApp, see how many are dead. How I killed them with my own hands.”
From Boasts to Justice
Afana’s bloody boasts became emblematic of the atrocities committed during the October 7 attacks, which left 1,200 Israelis dead and sparked the ongoing war. His death in Thursday’s strike closes the chapter on one of Hamas’s most notorious killers.
Israel has vowed to hunt down every terrorist involved in the massacre. Afana’s elimination underscores that promise—a message that those who spill innocent blood will ultimately face justice.
