Trump Unveils Bold Hostage Deal: All 48 Released in Exchange for Thousands of Prisoners, War Talks Under His Command

In a dramatic twist, Donald Trump proposes a sweeping hostage deal that could end the Gaza war, with negotiations personally overseen by the U.S. President.

In a stunning diplomatic gambit, U.S. President Donald Trump has tabled a comprehensive proposal to Hamas that could reshape the course of the Gaza war.

According to a Channel 12 report, Trump’s plan demands that all 48 hostages — living and deceased — be freed on day one, in exchange for the release of hundreds of terrorists and thousands of Palestinian detainees.

The deal goes far beyond previous offers. Under the framework:

  • Israel would halt its takeover of Gaza City.
  • Formal negotiations to end the war would begin immediately — overseen directly by Trump himself.
  • Fighting would remain frozen as long as negotiations continue.

Hamas has yet to respond, reportedly due to internal divisions and fear of collapse if Gaza City falls. Israel, meanwhile, has signaled “acceptance in principle.”

Sources close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stressed:

“Israel is seriously considering President Trump’s proposal; Hamas will likely continue its refusal.”

The offer was conveyed to Hamas by U.S. Envoy Steve Witkoff through activist Gershon Baskin, the same intermediary who helped broker the release of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.

Adding momentum, Netanyahu’s trusted adviser and head of the negotiating team, Minister Ron Dermer, is slated to fly to Washington, D.C., this week for high-level talks with senior U.S. officials.

If accepted, Trump’s plan would mark not only the largest prisoner-for-hostage exchange in Israeli history but also a direct U.S.-managed push to bring the war to a negotiated end.
