Turkish Hackers Leak Defense Minister Israel Katz’s Phone Number, Flood Him With Threats

A Turkish hacker group exposed Defense Minister Israel Katz’s phone number, bombarding him with threats after a live video call stunt. Katz hit back, vowing to continue ordering strikes against terrorist leaders.

A Turkish hacker collective has escalated its cyber campaign against Israel by publicly releasing the personal mobile number of Defense Minister Israel Katz.

According to reports, one member of the group even video-called Katz directly. The minister answered, only to be met with shouted insults. The hacker recorded the exchange, then circulated the footage online. Katz quickly hung up.

Since the leak, Katz’s phone has been overwhelmed with thousands of abusive messages, many generated by bots. Among them were explicit death threats, including chilling declarations such as “We’ll kill you.”

Katz fired back defiantly, writing on social media:

“Organized Islamist-Jihadist gangs from various countries around the world are calling my civilian, non-classified phone and leaving abusive messages and threats. They will continue to call and threaten, and I will continue to order the elimination of their fellow terrorist leaders.”

The incident underscores the growing intersection of cyber warfare and psychological intimidation targeting Israel’s leadership, as hackers weaponize social media and digital platforms to amplify threats.
