Arson Attempt on Israeli Embassy in The Hague Foiled: “Hatred Will Not Deter Us”

Dutch police thwarted an arson attempt on Israel’s embassy in The Hague, as Ambassador Danon vowed the Israeli flag will “continue to fly proudly worldwide.”

The Israeli Embassy in The Hague came under attack Friday evening when an assailant attempted to break into the building and set fire to its lobby.

According to Israel’s Foreign Ministry, the suspect was quickly apprehended by Dutch police, and all embassy staff were unharmed.

This latest incident follows a wave of hostility targeting Israel’s diplomatic missions abroad. Just last month, vandals hurled paint and shattered the entrance doors of the same embassy before being arrested.

Israel’s Ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, strongly condemned the arson attempt:
The abhorrent attempt to set fire to the Israeli embassy in The Hague was foiled and the suspect was arrested. Hatred and violence will not deter us—the Israeli flag will continue to fly proudly around the world.

The Foreign Ministry confirmed that the matter is being handled by Dutch security services and reiterated that Israel’s diplomatic presence will not be intimidated or silenced.

The attacks underscore the growing climate of antisemitic violence in Europe, even as Israel vows to strengthen its global diplomatic resilience.
