From Pizza Ovens to Nazi Echoes: German Pizzeria Bans Israelis, Sparks Outrage

A top German pizzeria banned Israelis, exposing how old antisemitic ghosts of the 1930s are resurfacing in modern Germany under the guise of “protest.”

Germany, once vowing “Never Again,” is witnessing chilling scenes reminiscent of its darkest chapter. Pizza Zulu, a globally acclaimed pizzeria ranked 6th-best in the world, hung a disgraceful sign banning Israelis from its premises in Fürth, Bavaria—a city celebrated for centuries of Jewish tolerance.

The sign brazenly declared: “We will no longer accept Israelis in the place.” Hypocritically, the owners claimed it was “neither political nor racist” while smugly promising Israelis would be welcomed back only if they “opened their eyes, ears, and hearts.” Hours later, following condemnation from Fürth’s Jewish community, the sign was hastily removed—but the damage was already done.

Fürth, home to a renowned Jewish museum and a proud history of sheltering Jews expelled from other German cities, now faces global shame.

The Israeli Embassy in Berlin slammed the move with a stark warning: “The 1930s are back, this time in Fürth. This is crystal-clear antisemitism. That’s how it started back then: step by step, sign by sign.”

The shockwave echoes another chilling case just last week in Flensburg, where a shop displayed: “Jews are banned from here! Nothing personal. No antisemitism. Just can’t stand you.”

Israel’s Ambassador to Germany, Ron Prosor, compared the situation directly to Nazi-era policies: “In 2025, ‘No Jews allowed’ signs are back—in the streets, cafés, and shops of Germany. It’s the same old hatred, just in a different font. And such rhetoric never ends harmlessly.”

Prosor urged Germans of all faiths to boycott such establishments, warning politicians not to wait until words escalate into violence: “Jewish life must be safe and visible in Germany—everywhere, at all times.”

This is not just about pizza. It’s about history repeating itself in the heart of Europe.
