A senior Hamas official admitted in an interview with the BBC that the organization is expected to reject the peace plan put forward by US President Donald Trump.

The reason? The plan demands what the world has long called for: the disarmament of Hamas. But the official made clear that Hamas refuses to surrender its weapons—choosing terror over peace, war over prosperity, and destruction over coexistence.

The Trump plan, coordinated with Israel, centers on the release of hostages, security guarantees for Israelis, and a long-term reconstruction path for Gaza. Yet Hamas claims the plan “ignores Palestinian interests” simply because it removes their ability to wage war against Israel.

This public rejection exposes the truth: Hamas’s primary “interest” is holding onto its rockets and terror infrastructure, not the welfare of Palestinians. By rejecting international calls to disarm, Hamas once again shows the world that peace is possible—only when Hamas is dismantled.
