As Trump and Netanyahu push a historic peace deal, Hamas’s military chief vows to fight on, exposing the group’s true aim: Israel’s destruction.
Mediators Qatar and Egypt contacted Hamas’s Gaza military wing commander, Izz ad-Din al-Haddad, who bluntly declared his rejection of U.S. President Donald Trump’s 21-point Gaza peace plan. Al-Haddad reportedly told mediators that the proposal’s real goal is to “end Hamas rule—whether we agree or not,” and therefore Hamas must continue its war.
President Trump, speaking alongside Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, gave Hamas three to four days to respond before Israel resumes its full military campaign to crush the terror group. The White House reinforced this deadline on Wednesday, as global pressure mounted on Hamas to release hostages and disarm.
Conflicting reports briefly suggested Hamas might accept the plan, but by Wednesday, a senior figure told the BBC the terror group was “likely to reject” it because it “serves Israel’s interests” and “ignores those of the Palestinian people.”
In reality, the plan—endorsed by the U.S., Israel, and several Arab states—offers a chance to end Hamas’s stranglehold on Gaza, bring relief to civilians, and secure Israel’s borders. Hamas’s refusal underscores its core agenda: perpetual war and the annihilation of Israel, not peace or Palestinian prosperity.
