Cairo will host delegations from Israel and Hamas to finalize details of Trump’s hostage-release framework and ground conditions in Gaza.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced Saturday that delegations from Israel and the Hamas terror organization will arrive in Cairo on Monday for critical talks aimed at advancing US President Donald Trump’s peace initiative and securing the release of all Israeli hostages.
According to the ministry’s statement, the meeting will “discuss the conditions on the ground and the details of the release of all the Israeli hostages and Palestinian prisoners, in alignment with President Trump’s offer.”
The talks mark the next step in Trump’s high-stakes diplomatic push — a plan already backed by Israel and supported by key Arab states — to end the Gaza war through a phased framework that prioritizes humanitarian relief, hostage return, and long-term regional stability.
Israeli officials confirmed that the delegation will include senior security and intelligence representatives, underscoring Jerusalem’s commitment to coordinating closely with Washington and its regional partners.
For Egypt, which has long served as a mediator in Israel–Hamas negotiations, Monday’s summit will test Cairo’s ability to enforce accountability on Hamas while maintaining open coordination with both Israel and the United States.
The upcoming meeting could mark a pivotal moment in the implementation of Trump’s Gaza plan, potentially setting in motion the most significant breakthrough in hostage diplomacy since October 7.
