In a precise southern Gaza operation, IDF forces exposed Hamas tunnels and weapons factories hidden beneath hospital complexes.
In another major blow to Hamas’s terror infrastructure, IDF troops from the 36th Division, in coordination with the Israel Security Agency (ISA) and guided by the Intelligence Directorate, uncovered a vast Hamas tunnel network beneath Gaza hospitals — once again proving the terror group’s cynical exploitation of humanitarian sites.
During a targeted operation in southern Gaza City, Israeli forces located a tunnel shaft adjacent to the Jordanian Hospital complex that led to a massive underground facility used for weapons manufacturing. The operation was conducted with the support of the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit.
According to IDF intelligence, the tunnel is approximately 1.5 kilometers long and served as part of a Hamas military outpost occupied by the organization’s platoon and company commanders. Inside, troops discovered manufacturing rooms, meeting halls, and living quarters reserved for senior Hamas officers.
In addition, IDF forces identified another tunnel shaft beneath Hamad Hospital in Gaza City, further exposing Hamas’s systematic use of medical and civilian structures as terror shields.
“The Hamas terrorist organization operates systematically within hospital complexes, exploiting humanitarian facilities for military purposes,” the IDF said in a statement. “For years, Hamas has built a vast underground network beneath hospitals across Gaza, used to produce weapons and conduct combat operations.”
The army clarified that the terror infrastructure near the Jordanian Hospital was built without Jordan’s involvement or knowledge, emphasizing that Hamas continues to violate international law by embedding its military assets under protected civilian facilities.
Israeli forces continue mapping the newly discovered underground network and are expanding their operations to other suspected sites based on fresh intelligence indicating ongoing terrorist activity.
This latest discovery reinforces Israel’s longstanding claim: Hamas’s war machine operates under the cover of hospitals, schools, and mosques — turning humanitarian sanctuaries into deadly war zones while endangering civilians.
