Prime Minister Netanyahu has ordered Israel’s negotiation team, led by Minister Ron Dermer, to head to Egypt for U.S.-brokered Gaza talks under Trump’s plan.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has instructed the Israeli negotiation delegation, headed by Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, to depart for Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, where renewed talks will take place under the framework of U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace initiative.
The delegation is set to depart Monday morning, joining international mediators and Egyptian officials for discussions aimed at finalizing the comprehensive hostage-release and ceasefire agreement.
At the same time, a Hamas delegation has arrived in Egypt, led by senior official Khalil al-Hayya, who will represent the terror group in the negotiations.
Israeli officials confirmed that the upcoming sessions in Sharm El-Sheikh will focus on the implementation of the first stage of Trump’s plan — securing the immediate release of all Israeli hostages and establishing security guarantees that ensure Hamas’s total disarmament and Israel’s continued control of key zones in Gaza, including the Philadelphi Corridor and Beit Hanoun.
Jerusalem sources described the delegation’s mission as “decisive,” underscoring Netanyahu’s directive that no concessions be made that compromise Israel’s security or sovereignty.
