Following his landmark Gaza ceasefire deal, President Donald Trump will visit Israel this week and may address the Knesset — calling it “a wonderful day for everyone.”
In a moment charged with history and hope, U.S. President Donald Trump announced he will visit Israel this week following the breakthrough ceasefire agreement in Gaza, marking his first visit to the Jewish state since returning to the White House.
Speaking to Axios, Trump confirmed that he had been invited to address the Knesset — an honor rarely extended to foreign leaders.
“I am expected to arrive in Israel in the coming days,” he said. “They want me to speak in the Knesset, and I will certainly do so if they want it.”
According to Ynet, Trump is expected to land on Sunday, where he will be welcomed as the architect of the historic Gaza peace deal — a multi-phase plan that secured a complete ceasefire and the imminent release of 49 Israeli hostages.
Trump called the moment “a great day for the world,” telling reporters:
“The whole world has come together on this one. Israel, every country — all have come together. This has been a fantastic day, a wonderful day for everybody.”
The visit will be Trump’s first to Israel since 2016, when he laid the groundwork for what became one of the defining diplomatic moves of his presidency — the 2017 recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s eternal capital and the relocation of the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in what aides described as an “emotional phone call,” thanked Trump for his unwavering commitment to securing peace and freedom for Israel’s people.
The Gaza peace accord, signed in Cairo under American mediation, represents the first phase of Trump’s 20-point Middle East Peace Framework — hailed by regional analysts as a blueprint for lasting stability and a new geopolitical order.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote:
“I am very proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have both signed off on the first phase of our Peace Plan. This means ALL of the hostages will be released very soon, and Israel will withdraw troops to an agreed line as the first steps toward a Strong, Durable, and Everlasting Peace. All Parties will be treated fairly!”
From Jerusalem to Washington, the anticipation is electric. As Trump prepares to step once again onto Israeli soil — the land where faith meets freedom — his message to the world is clear: “Peace through strength is not a dream. It’s happening.”
