Netanyahu Meets Egyptian Intelligence Chief in Jerusalem to Advance Trump’s Gaza Plan and Strengthen Regional Peace

Prime Minister Netanyahu and Egypt’s intelligence chief discuss advancing President Trump’s Gaza plan and deepening Israel–Egypt cooperation in Jerusalem.

In a high-level diplomatic meeting underscoring Israel’s growing regional partnerships, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met on Tuesday in Jerusalem with Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamel Hassan Rashad to discuss the next phase of President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan and to reinforce the enduring peace between Israel and Egypt.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting centered on “advancing President Trump’s plan for Gaza” — a strategic blueprint aimed at disarming Hamas, stabilizing the Strip, and fostering regional cooperation under U.S.-led supervision.

The discussion also covered bilateral relations and security coordination between Jerusalem and Cairo, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the historic peace accord that has served as the foundation for regional stability since 1979.

Rashad, who arrived in Israel aboard a private Egyptian intelligence jet that landed at Ben Gurion Airport early Tuesday, met with Netanyahu and senior Israeli officials at the Prime Minister’s Office in Jerusalem.

Israeli sources described the atmosphere as “cordial and constructive,” reflecting a shared understanding that Egypt plays a pivotal role in securing postwar arrangements in Gaza and ensuring that Hamas is permanently stripped of power.

The meeting highlights a new phase of Israeli–Egyptian strategic cooperation under the framework of Trump’s regional peace vision, positioning both nations as anchors of stability and deterrence against Islamist extremism across the Middle East.
