U.S. Vice President JD Vance Lands in Israel to Oversee Gaza Ceasefire Implementation and Advance Trump’s Peace Plan

Vice President JD Vance arrives in Israel to inspect the U.S.-led multinational force in Kiryat Gat and discuss next steps of Trump’s Gaza peace framework.

Amid tight security and soaring expectations, U.S. Vice President JD Vance arrived in Israel on Tuesday afternoon, marking a key moment in the Trump administration’s postwar Gaza peace initiative.

Vance was welcomed at Ben-Gurion Airport by Deputy Prime Minister and Justice Minister Yariv Levin and Israel’s Ambassador to Washington, Yechiel Leiter, before departing for Kiryat Gat, where the U.S.-led multinational coordination headquarters for monitoring the Gaza ceasefire is based.

The visit is expected to focus on finalizing Phase A of the ceasefire framework — the stage dedicated to securing quiet, ensuring Hamas’s full disarmament, and facilitating the return of remaining hostages and fallen soldiers. Discussions will also center on transitioning to Phase B of President Trump’s comprehensive Gaza Plan, which envisions long-term regional stabilization and a demilitarized governance structure supported by Egypt, the U.S., and moderate Arab states.

Sources in Jerusalem described the visit as “a critical diplomatic checkpoint”, reaffirming Washington’s on-ground commitment to Israel’s security and the joint management of ceasefire enforcement.

Vance is scheduled to meet senior Israeli officials throughout the visit before departing Thursday. His presence underscores U.S. confidence in Israel’s leadership and reflects the close operational partnership between the two nations in ensuring the ceasefire serves Israel’s strategic interests — preventing Hamas’s resurgence and guaranteeing regional calm through strength.

The Vice President’s arrival has prompted extensive road closures and security restrictions across central Israel and Jerusalem, including major arteries such as Route 1, Ben-Zvi Boulevard, Azza Street, King David Street, and Paris Square, as police prepare for heightened movement of diplomatic convoys.

Israeli officials hailed the visit as a symbol of unbreakable U.S.–Israel coordination, describing it as another demonstration that Trump’s peace architecture remains deeply pro-Israel, grounded in deterrence, alliance, and enduring trust.
