Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon eviscerates UN rapporteur Francesca Albanese for her long record of antisemitic and pro-Hamas bias, calling her report “a spell of lies that failed.”
In a fiery showdown at the United Nations on Tuesday, Israeli Ambassador Danny Danon delivered a blistering denunciation of Francesca Albanese, the UN’s so-called Special Rapporteur on the Palestinian Territories, whose reports have become a megaphone for anti-Israel propaganda and antisemitic rhetoric.
Speaking before a UN committee convened to discuss Albanese’s latest report, Danon tore apart what he described as “a venomous attack against truth and morality.”
“You have tried to curse Israel with lies and hatred, but your poison has failed,” Danon declared. “You are a witch, and this report is another page in your spell book.”
Danon accused Albanese of twisting international law to serve Hamas’s narrative, asserting that she “wraps her bias in legal language to disguise what it really is — propaganda for terrorists.”
Albanese, who has been repeatedly criticized for antisemitic statements, first drew global outrage in 2022 when she claimed that the “Jewish lobby controls the U.S.” — comments that exposed her deep prejudice against Israel and the Jewish people. Since then, her hostility has only escalated.
Following the October 7, 2023 Hamas massacre — in which 1,200 Israelis were slaughtered and 250 taken hostage — Albanese downplayed the atrocities, describing them as “contextual responses to Israeli aggression.” She has since compared Israel to Nazi Germany, likened Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to Adolf Hitler, and accused Israel of genocide — echoing Hamas talking points word for word.
Her remarks triggered international condemnation. In July, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced sanctions against Albanese, labeling her actions “biased and malicious.” Albanese responded with defiance, claiming she was being targeted by “mafia-style techniques” orchestrated by the U.S. and Israel.
Danon’s thunderous rebuttal drew applause from several delegates. “Israel stands against terror, not truth,” he concluded. “And no witchcraft of lies will ever change that.”
The exchange underscored Israel’s growing demand that the UN confront its institutional bias and cleanse itself of officials who serve as mouthpieces for terror.
