New survey finds overwhelming U.S. Jewish support for Israel’s survival, Trump’s Gaza peace plan, and rejection of anti-Israel war crimes claims.
A stunning new survey by the Jewish People Policy Institute (JPPI) has revealed that an overwhelming 88% of American Jews believe Israel’s existence is essential for the long-term survival of the Jewish people — a resounding affirmation of Israel’s central place in global Jewish identity even amid political divides in the United States.
The Voice of the Jewish People Index for October 2025 paints a powerful picture of unity on Israel’s importance — and a surprisingly strong endorsement of President Donald Trump’s 20-point Gaza peace plan, which the vast majority of respondents credit for bringing about the recent hostage-release agreement with Hamas.
Trump’s Peace Plan Wins Over U.S. Jewry
According to the data, 73% of U.S. Jews support Trump’s Gaza peace framework, compared to just 8% who oppose it. Among conservatives, enthusiasm was overwhelming — 85% of Trump voters approved the plan, while even 65% of Harris voters expressed support.
Notably, 54% credited Trump personally for securing the hostages’ release, compared to 7% for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, 7% for Arab leaders, and a negligible 1% for the United Nations or Hamas.
The results underscore a profound perception of Trump as Israel’s protector on the world stage — with 42% of U.S. Jews agreeing with Netanyahu’s statement that “Donald Trump is Israel’s greatest friend ever.”
Israel’s Military Victory and Divided Perceptions
When asked who won the war against Hamas, 36% said Israel achieved victory, 50% viewed the outcome as inconclusive, and 10% believed Israel lost. Ideology shaped responses sharply — 53% of conservatives declared Israel the victor, compared to just 18% of strong liberals.
Despite some criticism of Netanyahu’s handling of the conflict — with 61% rating his leadership negatively — the survey revealed a broad rejection of the anti-Israel narrative that emerged in international forums.
Rejecting the War Crimes Lie
A decisive 64% of respondents rejected claims that Israel committed war crimes in Gaza, while only 25% accepted the accusation — a striking contrast to the Washington Post’s September poll, which found the opposite. This data signals a decisive turn in U.S. Jewish opinion, moving away from progressive media narratives and back toward mainstream Zionist solidarity.
American Jewish Support for Israel: “Not Enough”
The survey exposed deep anxiety among U.S. Jews about waning communal support for Israel. 61% said American Jewish support is insufficient, while only 24% felt it is adequate. Among Trump supporters, the sentiment was overwhelming — 88% said U.S. Jews “do not support Israel enough.”
On American government policy, 56% said the current level of U.S. support for Israel is appropriate, but 41% of conservatives said it still falls short — reflecting a growing call for stronger U.S.-Israel alignment in the face of Iranian aggression and Hamas resurgence.
Peace, Security, and Future Outlook
When it comes to the future of peace, 39% favored a deal with moderate Palestinians for a two-state arrangement, 34% preferred separation, and 21% supported expanding Israeli control. Yet 45% — nearly half — said peaceful coexistence between Israel and a Palestinian state is impossible, signaling widespread skepticism about Palestinian intentions after years of terrorism and incitement.
On safety, 62% of American Jews said they feel secure living as Jews in the U.S., while 38% do not — a figure that has risen in tandem with surging antisemitism on American campuses and city streets.
Global Attitudes Toward Israel: Germany and Canada Lead, Europe Divides
Respondents viewed Germany and Canada as the most comfortable and Israel-friendly countries for Jews, while France (65%) and the United Kingdom (55%) were seen as unfriendly. This finding reinforces growing concerns about Europe’s moral drift and its failure to counter Islamist antisemitism.
The Big Picture: Israel as the Anchor of Jewish Destiny
The JPPI survey sends a clear message: for U.S. Jews, Israel is not just a nation — it’s the beating heart of Jewish survival. In an era of rising antisemitism and global chaos, Israel stands as the world’s only Jewish refuge and the frontline defender of freedom in the Middle East.
And while American politics may remain polarized, one truth shines through: Israel’s existence is the cornerstone of Jewish continuity — and most American Jews know it.
