Jewish entrepreneur Dave Portnoy faces vile antisemitic abuse while filming in Mississippi, exposing the disturbing normalization of hate across America.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy, a proud Jewish entrepreneur and internet personality, was subjected to an antisemitic slur while filming one of his famous “One Bite” pizza reviews in Starkville, Mississippi, on Friday — a moment that laid bare the disturbing persistence of Jew-hatred in the American heartland.
As Portnoy recorded outside Boardtown Pizza, a man passing by suddenly shouted, “F*k the Jews!**” — a hate-filled outburst captured on camera and immediately condemned by bystanders.
Portnoy, refusing to back down, gestured toward the offender and challenged him:
“Why don’t you come in the camera, buddy?”
The man briefly approached, muttered inaudibly, and walked away as others rebuked him. “That was awful,” a woman nearby exclaimed, while another yelled, “Get out of here!”
The man’s identity remains unknown, but the act — brazen, public, and unprovoked — reflects a chilling rise in antisemitic incidents across North America. It is the second such attack Portnoy has faced this year: in June, while filming a review in Toronto, he was similarly targeted by an antisemitic slur.
Portnoy, known for his unapologetic outspokenness, has often used his platform to denounce bigotry. His defiant reaction in Starkville mirrors the growing resolve among Jews and allies worldwide to confront hate not with silence — but with visibility, pride, and truth.
As antisemitism spreads under the guise of “free speech,” incidents like these underscore the vital need for education, accountability, and moral courage. From university campuses to small-town streets, the war on Jewish dignity must be fought — and won — in every arena.
