Israeli security forces thwart ISIS-inspired terror cell in Jerusalem, seizing weapons and gear as suspects planned attacks on Jews.
Israel’s security establishment has once again demonstrated its unmatched vigilance, dismantling an ISIS-inspired terror cell operating out of Jerusalem’s Beit Safafa neighborhood. Two of the four Arab suspects — all in their 20s — are now expected to face indictments within days after a sweeping investigation exposed their allegiance to the murderous ISIS ideology and their preparations to carry out violent attacks against Jews.
The arrests followed a coordinated operation between the Shin Bet (ISA) and Jerusalem District’s elite YAMAR unit. Investigators uncovered extensive digital evidence: the suspects immersed themselves in ISIS propaganda, binge-watching execution videos, battle footage, and brainwashing material designed to fuel radical hatred.
According to the investigation, the men were not merely fantasizing. They had begun gearing up for what they called the “great war in the end of days” — a violent campaign targeting Jews and “anyone not Muslim,” as one suspect explicitly admitted during interrogation.
The Shin Bet revealed that the cell had already procured military gear and even a pistol — later discovered by YAMAR detectives hidden inside a chicken coop, alongside additional tactical equipment. Their intent: to arm themselves for imminent attacks inside Israel.
After weeks of interrogation, evidence against two suspects was deemed strong enough for prosecutors to file an official statement paving the way for indictments. The remaining two suspects remain in extended detention as the investigation deepens.
Israel’s security forces, once again, stood between terrorists and innocent civilians — preventing what could have been a deadly ISIS-inspired assault in the heart of Jerusalem.
