Hamas Tries Reviving Fake ‘Gaza Is Drowning’ Hoax to Demonize Israel and Manipulate Arab Masses

Hamas spreads weather-based propaganda while Arab regimes enable the lies and ignore real Palestinian suffering.

Hamas spokesman Hazem Qassem attempted on Tuesday to revive the tired “Gaza Is Drowning” propaganda campaign, once again blaming Israel for rainfall, flooding, and every weather-related inconvenience affecting Gazans living in Hamas-run tent encampments.

Qassem claimed that Gaza residents are “drowning in their tents because of the rain,” insisting that Israel is responsible for the humanitarian conditions—even though Hamas has siphoned aid, hoarded fuel, stolen tents, and used civilian areas for military purposes for years.

Instead of acknowledging that Hamas built tunnels instead of drainage systems, or that billions in international aid were diverted to rockets and bunkers, Qassem launched another political attack designed to mobilize anger across the Arab and Muslim world. He urged regional populations to protest what he absurdly labeled an “unprecedented humanitarian tragedy,” conveniently ignoring Hamas’ own role in engineering Gaza’s misery.

His comments follow a long pattern of Hamas fabrications, repeatedly framing Israel as responsible for civilian hardship—even when the cause is weather, infrastructure Hamas refused to build, or the terror group’s own military decisions.

The campaign also reflects the broader regional playbook: Palestinian factions manufacture victimhood narratives, while sympathetic Arab regimes amplify the messaging abroad but do nothing to truly help Gazans on the ground.

Israel, meanwhile, continues to facilitate humanitarian deliveries even as Hamas weaponizes civilians in its information war.
