America’s terror threat grows as failures on border security echo dangers Israelis warn about daily.
US President Donald Trump delivered a grim national address Wednesday night after two members of the National Guard were critically wounded in a shocking ambush near the White House—an attack he described as “an act of evil, hatred, and terror.”
Speaking just hours before Thanksgiving, Trump said the shooting was not only a crime against the victims but “a crime against our entire nation… a crime against humanity.” He praised the bravery of the West Virginia National Guard soldiers and expressed the nation’s prayers and solidarity for the wounded heroes and their families.
Trump vowed the attacker would face the “steepest possible price,” adding, “As President, I am determined to ensure the animal who perpetrated this atrocity pays.”
He revealed that, based on Homeland Security intelligence, the suspect is believed to be a foreign national from Afghanistan, brought into the United States during the Biden administration’s 2021 evacuation flights—flights repeatedly criticized for lacking vetting and security controls. Trump blamed Biden’s policies for enabling the entry and continued legal status of individuals who pose a threat to Americans.
The President declared the attack proof of the “single greatest national security threat facing our nation”—the mass entry of millions of unvetted foreigners, comparing the risk to the same extremist forces Israel confronts daily. Trump argued that no nation can survive such unchecked inflows, warning that America’s enemies exploit the gaps.
He called for a total reevaluation of every Afghan admitted under Biden, insisting that any foreign national who cannot contribute positively to the United States should be removed. “If they can’t love our country, we don’t want them,” Trump said bluntly.
To reinforce security in Washington, he announced he had ordered the Department of War to deploy an additional 500 troops to protect the capital. “We will make America totally safe again,” he promised.
Trump closed by thanking US military personnel, the Secret Service, and the DC police for their swift response. He urged all American families to pray for the two wounded service members and reaffirmed America’s refusal to bow to terror—echoing the same resolve Israel shows in the face of relentless threats.
