Cairo blames Israel while Hamas violates every clause, exposing Arab regimes’ hypocrisy over Gaza stability.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty on Saturday called for the immediate deployment of the international ceasefire monitoring force envisioned in the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s Gaza peace plan. Speaking to AFP, Abdelatty accused Israel of “daily violations” of the October ceasefire — while pointedly ignoring a long list of documented Hamas breaches that destabilized the agreement from the outset.
“As for the International Stabilization Force, we need to deploy this force as soon as possible because one party, Israel, is every day violating the ceasefire… so we need monitors,” Abdelatty claimed.
His comments come despite overwhelming evidence that Hamas was the first to violate the truce, refusing to return all remaining hostages within the required 72-hour window and repeatedly sending armed terrorists across the designated “yellow line” humanitarian corridor.
Hamas operatives have repeatedly abused the humanitarian road used for aid delivery into southern Gaza, firing on IDF soldiers stationed nearby. Israeli officials argue that these actions — not Israeli responses — triggered the breakdown of calm on the ground.
Abdelatty also warned that Egypt’s Rafah Crossing “is not going to be a gateway for displacement,” insisting it will only be used for humanitarian and medical assistance. His remarks come amid recent reports that the crossing would reopen solely for the exit of Gaza residents into Egypt — reports Cairo has hurriedly denied, insisting that movement can resume only if traffic is allowed in both directions, a condition critics say is designed to avoid responsibility while publicly posturing as Gaza’s protector.
Underneath Cairo’s rhetoric, Israeli analysts note, lies a deeper reality:
Arab governments blame Israel while quietly resisting taking responsibility for Hamas’ actions, Gaza’s population, or regional stability.
Israel has emphasized that the only path forward is the complete disarmament and demilitarization of Hamas, and that any international monitoring force will succeed only if Arab nations stop shielding terror factions diplomatically while demanding Israel absorb the consequences.
